So I'm still not sure exactly where my cousin is coming, I'm a little scared to ask, but I asked my mom if she was going out to lunch with him and my aunt and she said no, she's still too mad at him for what he did to me, and him still not owning up to it and all.
Today I did the best out of everyone on another grammar unit test thing (yay, lots of good grades lately), and out of all those complicated mistakes this is what I did:
There was five feet of snow on the ground Sunday morning. It had all melted by the end of the day. (directions: connect the two sentences with a conjunctive adverb).
My answer:
There was five feet of snow on the ground Sunday morning; Consequently it had all melted by the end of the day.
Okay, he only took off two points out of five (it was after a conjunctive adverb), but my gosh, how stupid can you get. That sentence doens't even make sense.
We're reading Huckleberry Finn right now, and HF's dad beating him kinda made me mad.
Song that I love that sorta tells a story of my life: ("Concrete Angel" by Martina McBride)
She walks to school with a lunch she packed
Nobody knows what she's holding back;
Wearing the same dress she wore yesterday,
She hides the bruises with the linen and lace;
oh
The teacher wonders but she doesn't ask,
It's hard to see the pain behind the mask;
Bearing the burdon of a secret storm,
Sometimes she wishes she was never born;
Through the wind and the rain,
She stands hard as a stone in a world that she can't rise above;
But her dreams give her wings and she flies to a place where she's loved.
Concrete Angel
Somebody cries in the middle of the night,
The neighbors hear but they turn out the lights;
A fragile soul caught in the hands of fate,
When morning comes it will be too late.
Through the wind and the rain,
She stands hard as a stone in a world that she can't rise above;
But her dreams give her wings and she flies to a place where she's loved.
Concrete Angel
A statue stands in a shaded place,
An angel girl with an upturned face;
Her name is written on a polished rock,
A broken heart that the world forgot.
Through the wind and the rain,
She stands hard as a stone in a world that she can't rise above;
But her dreams give her wings and she flies to a place where she's loved.
Concrete Angel
